When A Man’s In Love

In the summer it’s good to wake before sunrise and go out on my bicycle. Not a soul about, apart from sheep, cows and on this occasion a few hens, and the air is still and sweet. The dawn chorus is a delightful accompaniment to my gentle ride to the canal. There’s a steady change of narrowboats from day to day as people make their way to and from Llangollen to the restful putt-putt of their engine. At this time of day, with the occupants sleeping, all is even quieter than usual and so peaceful that I forgot to worry about the state of the world.
